They give effect to the Council of Europe Data Protection Convention. This data can be held on computers or in manual files.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Data Controller.<\/strong> A \u201cdata controller\u201d means a person who, either alone or with others, controls the contents and use of personal data.\u00a0 The Data Controller is Niche Living.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Niche Living\u2019s Obligations. <\/strong>Niche Living\u2019s obligations under the Data Protection Acts are that:\n<ul>\n<li>Data must be obtained and processed fairly.<\/li>\n<li>Data must be accurate, complete and where necessary, kept up to date.<\/li>\n<li>Data must have been obtained only for one or more specified, explicit and legitimate purpose.<\/li>\n<li>Data must not be further processed in a manner incompatible with that purpose.<\/li>\n<li>Data must be adequate, relevant and not excessive in relation to the purpose for which they were collected or are further processed.<\/li>\n<li>Data must not be kept for longer than is necessary for that purpose.<\/li>\n<li>Appropriate security measures must be taken against unauthorised access to, or unauthorised alteration, disclosure or destruction of the data, in particular where the processing involves the transmission of data over a network, and against all other unlawful forms of processing.
